Music fans around the globe know Pete Townshend as the guitarist and songwriter for The Who, a band considered to be one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century selling over 100 million records worldwide. Although known primarily as a guitarist, Townshend also plays other instruments such as keyboards, banjo, accordion, harmonica, ukulele, mandolin, violin, synthesizer, bass guitar and drums. He has displayed these instrumental skills on his own solo albums, several Who albums, and as a guest contributor to other artists' recordings. Amazingly, he is self-taught on all of the instruments he plays and has never had any formal training. Townshend was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Who in 1990.
This 11 x 14 photo of Townshend signing and playing the guitar has been signed by Townshend on the top left in white against the dark background. The signature has been authenticated by PSA/DNA (#V74236).
