A three-time Cy Young Award winner and eight-time All-Star who captured a World Series title with the Boston Red Sox in 2004, Pedro Martinez enjoyed a standout career on the mound during his 18-year run in Major League Baseball. Martinez documented those achievements and more on this signed, game-used bat from his four-year stint in Montreal from 1994-97. Martinez signed the Louisville Slugger W248 model bat with natural finish in bold, black sharpie on the barrel above the inscriptions “Game Used” “219 W” “3154 K’s” “2:93 ERA” “CY 97.99.00” and “04 WSC.” The bat shows heavy signs of game use, including a cracked handle, several ball impressions, rack marks and grain swelling. The 34 ½-inch, 29.9-ounce bat features the number of a different player, “27,” on the knob in bold, black sharpie next to a scribbled out notation. PSA/DNA has deemed the bat authentic to Martinez, but cannot verify his use of it in a game due to the differing number on the knob. The bat and signature are each PSA/DNA certified with verification numbers “W57579” and “1B08106.”
