The first National Leaguer to win the Cy Young and MVP awards in the same season since Bob Gibson in 1964 is Los Angeles Dodgers hurler Clayton Kershaw. He recorded one of the greatest seasons by a pitcher in major league history in 2014, going 21-3 with a 1.77 ERA and 239 strikeouts in 198 innings. The Cy Young award was Kershaw’s second in a row and third in the last four seasons (he finished runner up in 2012). Kershaw has also led the NL in ERA for the last four seasons and his league leading 21 victories equaled his previous career-high in 2011. Kershaw wore this MLB Authenticated (HZ 483242) Los Angeles Dodgers gray mesh road uniform during the team’s Freeway Series game against the crosstown Angels on August 7, 2014. This size-50 button down jersey with ventilated arm pits has Kershaw’s name stitched across the back in blue tackle twill above his number 22, with an interlocking blue LA and Majestic logo patch on the left sleeve. The Dodgers cursive Los Angeles logo is stitched across the front in blue tackle twill above Kershaw’s number 22 in red. An MLB Authentic/Majestic manufacturer’s size-50 label sticker is adhered to the front left tail with a Cool Base label at the seam and a Majestic strip tag sticker with “#22 Kershaw 50” is on the inside collar. Matching pants have blue side piping and mesh lined rear pockets and also contain MLB Authentic/Majestic strip tag stitched into the waistband reading: “22 Kershaw 37-45 36 OB 14”.
