Offered is a bronze campaign coaster promoting the election of Dwight D. Eisenhower for President of the United States. A revered military commander, Eisenhower brought his supreme leadership skills to office for two terms from 1953-61. This coaster, a gift from India, features “VOTE FOR EISENHOWER” displayed in a circular fashion around a floral design. The underside of the coaster boasts a hand-etched “INDIA” marking. An accompanying COA signed by David North details that the coaster was given to his mother, Helen Weaver North, by Eisenhower. Helen served as Eisenhower’s personal secretary at NATO headquarters in Paris and at the White House from 1953-57. The coaster is a rare find from the personal collection of one of the most highly-regarded presidents in United States history.
