Made out to "Portador" (pay to the bearer) and endorsed by Roberto Herrera Sotolongo, the offered check was most likely used to pay for the upkeep of Hemingway's Cuban home Finca La Vigia. The 6-1/2" by 2-3/4" check features the full name signature of the great American writer and the endorsement of his personal secretary Roberto Herrera Sotolongo (d.1970) on the reverse. Ernest Hemingway (d.1961) was a literally genius who won both the Nobel Prize for Literature and the Pulitzer Prize for his classic, The Old Man and the Sea. All Hemingway signed items are revered by collectors but a full name check with direct ties to his Cuban estate and personal secretary will draw plenty of attention from serious collectors. PSA/DNA encapsulated. LOA from University Archives signed by leading historical autograph expert John Reznikoff.
Ernest Hemingway Signed Check dated June 5, 1947
