Jose Altuve’s 2014 dream season included being named to his second All-Star team in three seasons. Altuve wore this size 7 3/8 MLB Authentic (HZ 557749) batting helmet with the Houston Astros white H over a two-tone orange star logo at the 2014 All-Star Game on July 15, 2014 at Target Field in Minneapolis. Altuve’s sacrifice fly off Washington Senators reliever Tyler Clippard drove in the game’s final run in the A.L.’s 5-3 victory. Altuve signed the helmet’s bill in bright silver with a “27” inscription and added “Game Used 2014 All-Star Game,” and “2014 Batting Champ .341 avg. 223 hits ” inscriptions at either side of the Astros logo on the crown. MLB Authentic/Majestic and Rawlings manufacturers’ labels are on the padded inner headband. Rawlings S100 Pro Comp logo is embossed on the padding in the back of the helmet and a warning sticker is at the front and a 7 3/8 size sticker is affixed on the upper interior. Altuve’s number 27 is applied with a pair of orange decal stickers on the back above a blue white and orange MLB logo and a 2014 MLB All-Star Game logo depicting the top of Great American Ballpark and the Cincinnati skyline.
