With a single off Cleveland Indians 2014 AL Cy Young award winner Corey Kluber; Houston Astros All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve moved past Craig Biggio as the franchise’s all-time single-season hit leader. He connected for number 211 at Minute Maid Park in Houston on September 16, 2014.
Altuve wore this size 7 3/8 MLB Authentic (HZ 372023) batting helmet with the Houston Astros white H over a two-tone orange star logo during all five of his at-bats in the Astros 4-2 loss to the Indians that day. He signed the helmet’s bill in bright silver sharpie with “27,” “Game Used 2014,” “Hit #211” and “AL Batting Champ” inscriptions. Rawling’s S100 Pro Comp logo is embossed on the padding in the back of the helmet and a warning sticker is at the front and a 7 3/8 size sticker is affixed on the upper interior. MLB Authentic/Majkestic and Rawling’s manufacturers’ labels are on the padded inner headband and a Rawlings 100 MPH sticker is on the pad at the top of the crown. Altuve’s number 27 is applied with a pair of orange decal stickers on the back above a blue white and orange MLB logo. Comes with PSA/DNA certification #X48444.
