Hand written letters from a modern-day sitting president are rare, but this letter from Bill Clinton is not only hand written and signed by him but by the rest of his family. Addressed to former Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara, the letter is composed in black felt tipped pen on 6 3/4" x 8 3/4" engraved White House letterhead. The President thanks McNamara and his family for hosting the Clintons and invites them to stay at the White House. Clinton signs the letter with "Bill" below which Hillary Clinton was added 'and We hope to see you soon -- Hillary''. Chelsea Clinton has added her full name beside her mothers, making this a truly unique piece of Clinton ephemera. The date on the top "8-29" is in the President's hand and someone else, most likely McNamara, has written "93" in pencil.
