Mike Moustakas is a shining example of the home-grown talent drafted by the Kansas City franchise that helped spur the Royals to a World Series berth for the first time since 1985 in 2014. “Moose,” as he’s affectionately known in Kansas City, sported this game-used jersey against the Rangers back on Sept. 5, 2012. The third baseman was clearly busy in the showdown, as the front of the white button-down jersey is now mostly brown from a prominent dirt stain. “Royals” appears scripted across the front of the jersey with Moustakas’ number “8” below, both in blue tackle twill. “MOUSTAKAS” appears across the back above his number “8” both again in blue tackle twill. The right sleeve of the jersey boasts a special edition “2012 MLB ALL*STAR GAME” patch recognizing the event being held at Kauffman Stadium that season. The left sleeve features a Royals logo patch. The front tail of the jersey boasts a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s tag, size 48. Staining continues on the back of the jersey by the neck region and both shoulders. The game-used jersey is certified by MLB Authentication, verification number “EK 232632.”
