This is an historic full game ticket to the game in which Derek Jeter, the New York Yankees young budding superstar, scored his very first RBI. The full ticket is for the game played at Seattle against the Seattle Mariners on May 31, 1995 and comes in a custom lucite holder that designates the ticket grade a PSA 8; a very high “near mint to mint grade” certified by PSA, a major certification service in the sports collecting field. The PSA label reports the date and details of the game including the record, “Derek Jeter 1st RBI.” Drafted by the Yankees out of high school in 1992, Jeter quickly moved through the minor league ranks of the Yankees; being named Minor League Player of the Year in 1994. Jeter made his major league debut just two days prior to this game when he was placed in the Yankee line-up due to team injuries. Jeter subsequently earned the American League Rookie of the Year Award during his first full season with the Yankees (1996). In 2000, Jeter became the only player in history to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award in the same year. In 2009 Jeter surpassed Lou Gehrig as the Yankees’ all-time career “Hit King” upon hitting his 2,722 hit and in 2011 Jeter became the first Yankee player to hit 3,000 hits in his career. Jeter has continued to establish personal and team milestones, surpassing Mickey Mantle as playing in the most games wearing a Yankees uniform in 2012. Jeter's hard style of play and team spirit has endeared him to countless fans and has earned him All-Star status, Gold Glove Awards and 5 World Series rings to date. A full ticket such as this from Jeter’s 1st RBI game is scarcer than many of Jeter’s other milestone game tickets.
