This rare broadside poster advertises the Beatles interview with London Evening Standard reporter Maureen Cleave who many speculate had a liaison with John Lennon that inspired him to write “Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).” Cleave and Lennon were the center of a firestorm of controversy when she quoted Lennon has having said in one of her candid interviews published in March 1966, that “Christianity will go…We’re more popular than Jesus now. I don’t know which will go first, rock ‘n’ roll or Christianity.” The Beatles broke up less than four years after John’s comments. The color poster measures 18.5 X 30.
