By the 1970’s famed pop artist Andy Warhol had emerged from a painter and into a media celebrity. His parties at his studio “The Factory” attracted not only other artists but also movie icons and the rich & famous from all over the world. His mere presence at a club such as Studio 54 or Xenon was noteworthy enough to be mentioned in the next morning’s newspapers. This signed original candid 3 ½” x 3 ½” color snapshot of Warhol dates from this period of his greatest fame. Wearing a colorful shirt and tie and an impressive overcoat the artist smiles for the camera. Signed in blue sharpie pen, the photograph is stamped “Jan ‘76” from its development processing on the verso. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
