This handsome award plaque was presented to Hollywood icon Clark Gable by Gentlemen’s Quarterly Magazine “As Its Fashion Personality of the Month...Presented December 1959 In Recognition of His Fashion Individuality and His Valued Influence on the Dress Habits of the American Male”. What male wouldn't want to look like Clark Gable? As one of the biggest box office draws in Hollywood, Gable was often cast opposite the leading actresses of the day from Carole Lombard to Marilyn Monroe. Gable, who is best known for his performance as Rhett Butler in the 1939 classic “Gone With the Wind”, was one of the few actors to play the lead in three films that won an Academy Award for Best Picture. Gable’s gentlemanly attire was notable on and off screen so it was fitting that he was so honored by this upscale fashion magazine within a relatively short time after their founding in 1957. This personal award measures an impressive 10” x 15” and is accompanied by a handsome 8 x 10 black and white original photograph of Clark Gable. Comes with Gotta Have It LOA.
