With a fifth round knockout of Archie Moore on November 30, 1956, Floyd Patterson became the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in history at 21 years, 10 months, three weeks and five days and the first Olympic Gold medalist to win the Heavyweight title. Patterson’s record stood until it was surpassed by Mike Tyson thirty years later. Both young protégés were trained by the legendary Cus D’amato.

This size 11, 24-gram salesman’s sample ring has Patterson’s name engraved on its right shank with “Champions Salute” chiseled into its left side. A large cubic zirconia is mounted in the shape of a crown on top of the figure of boxer standing in a ring with raised lettering surrounding the perimeter reading: “World Heavyweight Champion.” Ring reveals signs of some wear with an adjustable sizing belt affixed to the bottom of the band. Some of the gold plating is wearing off the band’s exterior and the black background on top of the base is peeling off of the ring’s face. Interior band is engraved with “SA 139934-8” and “LGB-BKC.” Ring is contained in black velvet jewelry box.
