This is a rare three piece ensemble from the first inauguration of President Franklin Roosevelt and Vice President John N. Garner held in Washington D.C. on March 4, 1933. Included are an Official Inaugural Program and Admission Ticket Stub from this historic event and an original 9 X 7 black and white Associated Press photograph date stamped on verso depicting Roosevelt taking the Oath of Office. One of Roosevelt's early initiatives as part of his New Deal legislation, after taking office in 1933 at the height of The Depression, was the National Industrial Recovery Act that made funds available for the clearing of slums in American cities. Roosevelt would become elected to 4 terms as President of the United States, serving longer than any other American President. As President he is credited with making the federal government an agent of social and economic reform and establishing labor's right to negotiate with management. Directing our involvement in WW II after Pearl Harbor, Roosevelt died in office less than a month before the surrender of Germany. Among his famous quotes was the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." This is a rare opportunity to acquire these artifacts of such historical significance concerning such an important figure in American and world history. Comes with a Gotta Have It certificate that unconditionally guarantees the authenticity of this item.
