This is an ultra rare vintage handbill for The Police playing the Hotel Diplomat Ballroom in New York City in Sept, 1979. The 8.5 X 11 black and white handbill printed on light cardboard stock pictures The Police in a larger picture and the English band performing with The Police, “the The” in a second smaller picture. The band “the The” debuted in 1979 while The Police had debuted a couple of years earlier; quickly gaining global popularity with band members Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers performing as one of the first New Wave groups to achieve mainstream success.
