Each card has been graded by SGC. Presented is an 49-card near set (missing McLaughlin for completion) of N184 Kimball "Champions of Games and Sports" tobacoo insert cards issued in 1887. To remain competitive with Goodwin's and Allen & Ginter's popular Champions series, Kimball introduced their own series of "Champions of Games and Sports" which showcased fifty stars of various athletic fields. Highlighting this array are the four baseball subjects (Burch, Darling, Henderson and O'Neil), the boxers, and, of course, Annie Oakley! Includes: Graded SGC 60 EX 5: 2 cards w/Cockburn and O'Neil; SGC 50 VG/EX 4: 4 cards w/McPherson, Myers, Paulsen and Wood; SGC 40 VG 3: 16 cards w/Blondin, Darling, Ferrell, W.G. George, Hamilton, Hanlan, Jordan, Kane, Muldoon, Muller, Murphy, Rowe, Schloss, Wallace, Webb and Wessels; SGC 30 GD 2: 11 cards w/Burch, Freeman, L. George, Heins, Morsler, Oakley, Perry, Ross, Schaefer, J. Smith and Whistler; SGC 20 FR 1.5: 13 cards w/Beardsley, Blatt, Casey, Dempsey, Henderson, Humphrey, Murphy, O'Leary, Page, L.
