The 1932 Yankees were the last moment of glory for the old Murderer's Row. Under the able management of Joe McCarthy, the Yanks stormed to the pennant behind the awesome combination of Ruth, Gehrig and Pennock representing the old guard and young Turks Ben Chapman, Lefty Gomez and Frank Crosetti. This volatile mix of old and young proved lethal to the Chicago Cubs whom the Yanks swept in 4 games, the series forever remembered for one of baseball's greatest moments, Ruth's called shot. The Babe has signed the sweet spot of this 1926-33 John Heydler Spalding Official National League ball (5/10) as have 6 other Hall of Famers including Gehrig (3/10), Gomez (5/10), Pennock (6/10), Bill Dickey (2/10), Earle Combs (2/10) and Red Ruffing (2/10). Other members of this history making squad include Sammy Byrd, Ben Chapman, Jumbo Brown, Wilcy Moore, Art Jorgens and six others. Manager McCarthy's signature has been deemed a clubhouse version. All have signed in black fountain pen. The ball shows evidence of a shellac coating and has taken on a nice warm coloration with age. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
