While the Dodgers and the Giants were winning all the pennants in the National League, the Pittsburgh Pirates were quietly assembling the team that would win the 1960 World Series. This signed 1955 ball brings together the core of the team that would be the World Champs: sluggers Frank Howard (6/10) and Dale Long (6/10), all-star pitchers Roy Face (8/10) and Vern Law (8/10) and a young rookie named Roberto Clemente (7/10). Manager Fred Haney (10/10) and coach Clyde Sukeforth (10/10) have signed the sweet spot making this a truly complete team signed ball from Clemente's rookie campaign. All the signatures are in bright blue ballpoint grading between 6-10/10 and leap off this ivory colored Spalding Warren C. Giles Official National League ball. On one panel there is a darkened surface blemish beneath the signatures of Dale Long, Frank Howard, Laurin Pepper and Hardy Peterson. Letter of Authenticity from JSA.
