What a great selection of artifacts from the year the Bums finally got the job done. The 1955 Dodgers yearbook features a cover illustration of their loveable Bum reaching for a star, a fitting tribute to what was to come. It is 48 pages plus cover, edges are taped and there is significant toning throughout but that only adds to the charm of this piece. The World Series Program (Yankees Edition, as the Pinstripes are presented on top) is also 48 pages plus cover and is un-scored, in VG condition. Finally, a phantom ticket to that series is enclosed. While it is torn at the perforation, both halves are present. It is a box seat ticket, but lists no seat number and the game is designated at “X,” and also includes a hole punch on each portion. Still a vintage card stock issue and truly rounds out a set memorializing a year that Brooklynites of the era will always remember.
