Gary Sheffield, a 1997 World Series Champion with the Miami Marlins and a 9 time Major League Baseball All-Star was known to put fear into opposing pitchers when he came to the plate. His stance has been called “The Ultimate Whiffle Ball Swing”. Sheffield. a power hitter who also batted for average, could be seen in the batter’s box waving his bat hard, back and forth. He was known for wearing his trademark gold necklaces to intimidate opposing pitchers, he belted 509 career home runs and won 5 Silver Slugger awards to go along with them. Gary Sheffield joined the New York Yankees on December 3rd, 2003 finishing second in MVP voting the same year. This New York Yankees New Era baseball cap, size 7 3/8, is signed on the brim in silver ink and underneath his signature he has written “Game Used.” The New York Yankees navy blue fleece is signed by Sheffield in silver ink, just under the Yankees emblem on the front of the chest. The fleece displays Sheffield’s #11 under the Majestic tag and the cap features his #11 written under the brim. The fleece is tagged with a Sheff Authenticated sticker and both items are PSA Pre-Certified.
