The final All-Star season of Gary Sheffield’s illustrious career came in 2005, his second year as a member of the New York Yankees. Sheffield finished that campaign with a .291 batting average, 34 home runs and 123 RBI. This signed, game-used navy blue American League All-Star button-down jersey was donned by Sheffield at the 2005 Midsummer Classic in Detroit. Sheffield signed the reverse side of the jersey on his number “11” in bold, blue sharpie. The left “1” features Sheffield’s signature, while the right “1” has an inscription that reads “Game Used 2005” and “All Star Game.” The front of the jersey boasts “American” across the chest in white on orange tackle twill, while “SHEFFIELD” appears across the top back of the jersey in white tackle twill. Below, Sheffield’s number “11” is in white on orange tackle twill. The left sleeve of the jersey is home to a commemorative “MLB ALL*STAR GAME 2005” patch, while the right sleeve holds a New York Yankees logo patch. The front left tail of the jersey features a “Majestic” manufacturer’s label, while the lower left side seam of the jersey holds a size “50” tag. The signed, game-used Sheffield jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with a PSA/DNA COA, verification number “X90297.”
