Gary Sheffield’s last true great season in Major League Baseball came in 2005 as a member of the New York Yankees. Sheffield earned the final All-Star bid of his career that campaign; one that saw him hit .291 with 34 home runs and 123 RBI. Sheffield signed this grey game-used Yankees button-down road jersey on the right chest in bold, blue sharpie along with the inscription “Game Used 2005.” The jersey features “NEW YORK” across the chest in navy blue on white tackle twill with Sheffield’s number “11” on the reverse side in matching style. The front left tail of the jersey boasts a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label, with “2005,” size “50” and an additional faded size modification tag all below. The jersey shows moderate signs of game use with a series of dirt stains extending from the rear right hip up to the right shoulder. The signed, game-used jersey comes with a PSA/DNA COA, number “X90287,” and an LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema.
