Despite winning the first official Central Division title ever, Davey Johnson’s three year stint as manager of the Cincinnati Reds concluded after the 1995 season, thanks to volatile team owner Marge Schott. This lot includes a pair of game worn items, starting with a red Reds pullover top, signed in black on the right breast by the helmsman. The Majestic top shows pretty extensive use as Johnson is historically depicted frequently wearing a pullover in lieu of a team jersey. The road gray pinstriped pants are signed on the upper right thigh in blue Sharpie, also noted as “Game Used 1995.” The size 36 Russell Athletic pants are from the MLB Diamond Authentic Collection, and have a few stains on the right thigh and leg, possibly an affectation from Johnson’s noted preference for chewing tobacco. PSA Pre-Certified.
