Former Baltimore Oriole Davey Johnson was traded to the Atlanta Braves before the 1973 season and had his best statistical year and earned a spot on the National League All Star team. He was issued this commemorative bat for the 1973 All Star Game and this 34-inch Adirondack Big Stick Dave Johnson bat has a gold plaque mounted on the barrel with the inscription “TO COMMEMORATE THE 1973 ALL STAR GAME ROYAL STADIUM JULY 24TH KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI” and was manufactured during this labeling period. Johnson also signed his name and inscribed “1973 All Star Game” in bold blue marker. This bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B09544) and a COA from PSA/DNA for Johnson’s signature.
