Owner of two World Series championship rings, outfielder Johnny Damon took his services to Detroit for a one-year stint in 2010 when he hit a respectable .271 with 51 RBI. Damon sported this white Tigers button-down home jersey in game against Arizona on June 19, when he registered a hit and scored a run. The jersey features the tradition Detroit “D” logo scripted on the left chest in nave blue tackle twill. The reverse side of the jersey boasts “DAMON” across the top above his number “18,” both in navy blue tackle twill. The right sleeve of the jersey is home to a stitched circular black patch with “EH” in white, a memorial to longtime Tigers broadcaster Ernie Harwell, who died in May of that year. The jersey shows heavy signs of game use, including a large, smeared dirt stain on the reverse tail. The front left tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label with a white strip tag below that reads “18 48 ’10 206.” Tigers clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel marked the manufacturer’s label “JSG” in black sharpie to verify the jersey was worn by Damon. The jersey is verified under the MLB Authentication program, number “FJ033632.”
