Baseball history will remember Ernie Banks for his outstanding playing career, his affability, and his love for the game of baseball. This pair of replica Chicago Cubs jerseys from the tremendous Cooperstown Collection by Mitchell & Ness, almost exactly replicates the style and feel of jerseys of the era. The heavy-weight, button-front home jersey bears the large Cubs logo on the front, Cub “bear” patch on the left sleeve and MLB 100th Anniversary patch on the right. The road gray contains the word “CHICAGO” in lieu of the logo, and unlike the home shirt it bears Banks’ number 14 on the front as well as the back. Each has embroidered on the tail “1969 Ernie Banks” and most significantly, each is signed on the front in blue marker along with “HOF 77” indicating the year of his enshrinement in the halls of Cooperstown. Both come with original hanging tags, and these keepsakes are PSA Pre-Certified.
