The 1981 NL Cy Young and Rookie of the Year award winner, Fernando Valenzuela broke into the Major Leagues in a big way during his first full season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. “El Toro” would go on to enjoy 11 seasons with the Dodgers before moving on to other franchises. The jersey features “Dodgers” scripted across the chest in Dodger blue tackle twill with Valenzuela’s number “34” below in red tackle twill. The top back of the jersey features “VALENZUELA” above his number “34,” both in Dodger blue on white tackle twill. The inside collar of the jersey boasts a “Rawlings” manufacturer’s label with a white strip tag to the right that reads “88 1 W.S.” The right sleeve of the jersey features a stitched commemorative “1988 World Series” patch. The Valenzuela jersey shows light evidence of game use and comes with an LOA from noted sports jersey expert Dave Miedema. Valenzuela was injured and was unable to appear in the World Series, however the light use shown is likely from wear in the dugout.
