Frank “Home Run” Baker was at it again, booming a two-run home run off Rube Marquard to help lead the A’s to a win in Game 1, en route to a five game Series win for Philadelphia, their third World Series title in four seasons. Offered is an 8 x 10.75 inch, 32 page World Series program issued for the games at Shibe Park in Philadelphia, the scarcer of the two programs issued for the 1913 World Series. The cover features an illustration of a white elephant, while the internal white pages of the program display photos and biographies of all the key members of the Athletics, including manager Connie Mack, Eddie Plank, Chief Bender, Eddie Collins, Frank Baker, Jack Barry, and Herb Pennock. The A's defeated the Giants in five games in the 1913 Series, with only Games 2 and 4 taking place in Philadelphia. The cover has been taped on the binding to keep it secured and the scorecard has been partially scored. There is some edge wear and few minor tears but all pages are present.
