Much-beloved Davey Lopes has played, coach, or managed in the majors since 1972. The speedster stole 557 bases in 671 career attempts (an 83% success rate!) and once swiped 38 straight without getting caught. A four-time All Star and one-time Gold Glove winner, Lopes played in 4 World Series, racking up 3 HRs in the '78 losing effort and stealing 4 bases in the '81 triumph. In 1974, he set a Dodgers record with 15 total bases—3 homers, a double and a single. Throughout the 1990s and up through the present day, Lopes has been a devoted coach in Baltimore, San Diego, Washington, Philly and LA, as well as manager in Milwaukee (2000-2002). These championship rings and other items in the Davey Lopes collection come with his signed LOAs.

While coaching the Phils, Lopes received the ultimate honor of being selected to coach the 2009 N.L. All-Stars at Busch Stadium—a 4-3 A.L. victory with Derek Jeter scoring the first run and Mariano Rivera securing the save. But one of the most memorable moments came beforehand as Stan Musial handed a ball off to President Obama (clad in a White Sox jacket) for the ceremonial first pitch to leading vote-getter Albert Pujols. Obama also joined Joe Buck and Tim McCarver in the broadcast booth. Lopes' size 11 ring is gold-toned yet reads "STERL." inside for sterling silver. It features a CZ stone set in a red stone and rates Near Mint. The signed LOA has the year and locale incorrect, reading, "This is my one and only original 2001 [sic] National League All Star Ring while coaching for the Philadelphia Phillies. The game took place in Seattle, Washington [sic]."
