After spending 1984 and 1985 yo-yoing between the minors and majors, Eric Davis made the big leagues for good in June of 1986. Once in the lineup Davis played like a seasoned veteran. Throughout the summer of '86 Davis owned the National League: he peeled off 27 home runs while stealing 80 bases, a feat only the great Rickey Henderson had done before. In just his second month in the majors he was named the National League's "Play of the Month" for July. This was the first of many awards Davis would accumulate before cancer put a premature ending on what looked to be a Hall of Fame-bound career. This 9" tall Seiko clock is set in a Plexiglas diamond with an engraved plaque reading "ERIC DAVIS Cincinnati Reds N.L. Player of the Month July, 1986". The time piece award is in excellent condition with only light wear from age. A great piece that recalls the meteoric rise of Eric Davis.
