1924 marked the famous first World Series for the Big Train Walter Johnson, who was the winning pitcher in Game 7. The Washington Senators beat the New York Giants in seven games to culminate a series where the Giants became the first team to play in four consecutive World Series, winning in 1921–1922 and losing in 1923–1924. With Game 7 going 12 innings, it was the second extra-inning World Series-deciding game in history (also occurred in 1912) and it wouldn’t happen again until 1991. This extremely attractive sixteen-page large-format program was issued for the games at the Polo Grounds. The cover features large portrait images of each club's respective manager, John McGraw and Bucky Harris, while the interior pages include photos of league and team officials, as well as portraits of twenty-four members of both the Giants and Senators. The pre-printed lineups include stars such as Frisch, Kelly, Youngs, and Lindstrom for New York, and Johnson, Harris, Rice, and Goslin for Washington. The lineup pages are in very nice condition and are un-scored with the overall condition of the program being VG-EX at a minimum
