Opening Day Auction Closing May 9th

This program from the 1937 World Series played between the New York Yankees and the New York Giants features an orange cover with a drawing of a player swinging his lumber at the plate and another of a player sliding into home being called, “Out!” Inside this program are black & white head shots of players from both ball clubs with brief player bio’s attached next to them. This series match-up was a rematch of the 1936 World Series played between the same clubs. This fall classic was the first that any team (in this case, the Yankees) did not commit a single error in a World Series. Also, Game 4 marked the last time HOF pitcher Carl Hubbell pitched in a World Series, in it during the ninth inning he gave up a home run to Yankee legend Lou Gehrig. The Yankees again defeated the Giants 4 games to 1 to win their second championship in a row. Note: There is some writing on the front cover and the program has been scored. That said the overall condition is very good.
