Born at the turn of the last century, Waite Hoyt enjoyed an outstanding 21 year career that saw him emerge as one of the dominant pitchers of the 1920s. This MacGregor model baseball is signed by the Hall of Famer in two places. There are other inscriptions contained on the ball including “1954” and “To my friend Mr. Arnold with sincere wishes for everlasting success,” along with “NY Yankees 1921-30. While there is a JSA Letter of Authenticity certifying the signatures as genuine, it also notes that the other inscriptions were penned in an unknown hand.
