This Sportsman’s Park program from the 1946 World Series played between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox features a bold red cover with the fall classic pennant waving in the wind above home plate. Inside this program are short player biographies along with black and white portraits of players from both clubs. The scorecards inside have not been filled out. This was the first WS appearance for the Red Sox since 1918, and with star Ted Williams playing through an injury in which he was largely ineffective the Red Sox fell to the Cardinals. The Cardinals defeated the Red Sox 4 games to 3 to win the 1946 World Series. The overall condition of the program is very good with edge wear on the spine and slight discoloration on the back cover.
