This stamped First Day Cover is beautifully signed across the front by Boston Red Sox legend, and Hall of Fame left fielder Ted Williams in purple ink. This First Day Cover is dated from June 12, 1939, Cooperstown, New York commemorating 100th anniversary of baseball and the opening of the National Baseball Museum and Hall of Fame. An image of the Baseball Centennial 1839-1939 logo is present on the left of the envelope. The “3 cents” postage stamp from 1839 features a group of young school kids outside playing a game of baseball. Measuring 3.5” x 6.5” this signed piece has been authenticated by PSA/DNA (B27284) and Graded: Mint 9.
