Maris eventually pulled ahead, hitting the record breaking number 61 on the last day of the season. The two sluggers led the Yanks to back-to-back World Championships in 61 and 62 and will be forever tied together in baseball history. Both Yankees superstars have signed this Lee MacPhail Official American League ball in strong blue ballpoint. The Mick has signed the sweet spot and Maris has signed the panel above. Maris tragically passed away in 1985, long before the autograph craze, leaving precious few signed pieces. This ball with both Maris and Mantle together is a true prize.
