Few characters in baseball history have ever stood out as Casey Stengel did. After a tremendous run managing the powerhouse New York Yankees, the “Old Perfesser” moved cross-town, serving as the first skipper of the expansion loveable losers known as the New York Mets. Stengel retired in 1965 and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1966, and this black and white photograph features the venerable Stengel front and center celebrating a toast. The photo is personalized in red marker, “To Harold, A Happy celebration entering Hall of Fame News,” and signed below. The photo itself is in extremely good condition, and the top corner on back notes “Hall of Fame Day 3/8/66.” PSA/DNA Certified.
