Ortiz came over to the Red Sox in 2003 and immediately added the spark they needed to become contenders. The next year Ortiz hit 301 and 41 homers to lead Boston to their first World Series Championship since 1918. This great gamer dates from Big Papi's first six seasons in Boston. The Louisville Slugger C243 model bat displays excellent use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are visible on the barrel along with cleat imprints and the impression of a weighted batting donut. A moderate coat of pine tar is on the handle and Ortiz’s number “34” is hand written on both the knob and barrel end in silver marker.
