The Yankees slugger is one of the only ballplayers to have a rule named after him - the "Chambliss Rule" was instituted after his game winning walk off homer in the 1976 World Series where a mob of fans prohibited him from touching home plate. Chambliss was later told to go back onto the field to officially touch the plate, only to find a fan had stolen it! As a result, MLB passed an amendment t its rules allowing an umpire to award the base due to onrushing fans. This Louisville Slugger K75 bat dates from Chambliss's first summer with Atlanta in 1980. The bat shows excellent use and is un-cracked. Several ball marks with stitch impressions are evident on the barrel as well as black and blue bat rack paint streaks. A light coat of pine tar is on the handle and his number “10” is hand written in black marker on both ends of the bat. Chambliss has signed the barrel in black marker. Letter of Authenticity (H53850) from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a GU 8.
