The Dodgers star came into 1991 with his future in doubt after a rotator cuff surgery. Hershiser went 7-2 in 21 starts and was named the NL’s Comeback Player of the Year. The ace won with 100th career win that summer and won another 22 games over the next two seasons. He hit an insane .356 in 1993 and won the Silver Slugger Award. Hershiser’s Louisville Slugger W248 model bat is un-cracked and shows evidence of outstanding use. Several ball marks and stitch impressions with black ink transfers are on the barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Hershiser’s number “55” is hand written on the knob and barrel end in black marker.
