No man who ever picked up an electric guitar has had more influence over more musicians than Jimi Hendrix. His guitar playing is as fresh and strikingly original today as it was back in 1967. Though Hendrix had been working as a sideman with Little Richard, Ike and Tina Turner, the Isley Brothers and Sam Cooke since the early 1960's it wasn't until he started his own band in 1966 that he came into his own. From that moment until his death in 1970 at the age of 27, Jimi Hendrix was like a meteor, burning white hot for a brilliant but all too short time. With a window of less than 5 years in which he reigned as a guitar God, Hendrix' signature is among the rarest of all rock and roll musicians. The cut is trimmed from what may have been the edge of a poster and measures roughly 1 3/4" x 5". The back shows that it was clipped from a black page of scrapbook paper. Jimi has signed in blue ballpoint pen, his autograph reflecting all the energy and twists as one of his guitar solos. An extraordinary piece from rock's most original guitar heroes. Encapsulated and authenticated by PSA/DNA.
