Yaz was winding down his career during the 1981-83 period this bat was used. He began the 1982 season as the Red Sox’s DH where he went on a hitting streak that saw the 43 year-old lead the AL in hitting for most of the season. His tally for those three final years was a .263 average with 33 homers. Yaz hung up his spikes after the ’83 season and sat back waited for the final achievement of his long and distinguished career – a plaque in the Hall of Fame. The Louisville Slugger C271 shows outstanding use and has a cracked handle. Yaz’s number “8” is hand written on the knob end. A true gamer from one of the most popular players in Red Sox history. Letter of Authenticity 1B09580 from PSA/DNA who have graded this bat a solid GU 9.
