Playing his entire 23 year career for the Baltimore Orioles, first ballot Hall of Famer, and former American League MVP, Brooks Robinson is considered one of the best defensive third baseman in major league history. As a young man he got his start delivering news papers and operating the scoreboard at Lamar Porter Field in Little Rock Arkansas, where he also began his baseball career. As an 18 time All-Star and two time World Series Champion, Robinson was known for his impressive defense. He set many major league records for third basemen and he became an instant fan favorite for his dedication on and off the field. Robinson’s #5 was retired by the Baltimore Orioles in 1977 at the conclusion of his final season. Following his retirement, Robinson began a successful career as a color commentator for the Baltimore Orioles television broadcasts. This white home jersey displays his signature on his number in black on the back, also inscribed on his number is “HOF 83.” Sewn in Oriole orange on the back of the jersey at the bottom it reads, “Brooks Calbert Robinson Jr. “The Human Vacuum Cleaner” 16x Gold Glove award winner, 18x All Star selection, 1964 AL Most Valuable Player, 1983 Baseball Hall of Fame.” The Rawlings official Major League Baseball is signed on the sweet spot in blue ball point ink. Inscribed is “16x GG Brooks Robinson HOF 83.” Baseball is PSA/DNA Authenticated X63843. Jersey is JSA Authenticated.
