This elegant brass-plated memento showcases an 8-1/2"-tall batter (on a 7” base) in a classic post-swing pose with his eyes following the ball's home-run-bound trajectory. The convex pedestal is engraved with that infamous year of Babe Ruth's death, "1948", and it is supported by a hollow, bell-shaped metal base measuring 5-1/2" tall and 6-1/2" in diameter. The wide brass plaque encircling the base appears never to have been engraved and is no longer adhered to the back surface such that it can slide up and down. VG condition overall. According to our consignor, this design style resembles a similar contemporary trophy manufactured by Spalding.
