While individual players placed and received bat orders from Hillerich & Bradsby for their personal use, their parent ball club also placed orders for extra bats. Often these were the signature models of their best players and these were used for batting practice and allowing players to try out different weights and models. The New York Yankees were no different and what better signature model to have on hand for the rest of the team to try out than the one swung by Mickey Mantle. A game used but swung by The Mick is something to behold and treasured. While this was not ordered by Number 7 himself, it was likely used by one or more of his teammates during the 1951-1960 seasons. During that time the Yanks appeared in no less than eight World Series, winning five of them. This Mickey Mantle model 34" - 34 oz. Hillerich & Bradsby K55 bat shows heavy use with many ball marks with stitch impressions on the barrel. The bat's handle has been cracked through the center brand. Whether use by the man whose signature is stamped on the barrel or one of his teammates, this is an incredible bat used by one of the greatest team dynasties in the history of the game. Letter of Authenticity (311929) from MEARS who have graded this bat an A6.
