Opening Day Auction Closing May 9th

We haven't come across this promotional piece before—nor have we found any examples in other auction records. Its origins can be pinpointed to 1924 by the cover style of the Knack of Batting baseball guide that's touted on the reverse. Additional interesting features of the back include the miraculously still-intact H&B mailing card, as well as the handwritten address for a recipient proprietor in Woodville, NY, plus H&B's offer of a generous $3,000 kickback for prominent window usage. Naturally, the front side still remains the main attraction with its dramatic visuals of a gripped Louisville Slugger bat, a sweeping stadium scene of the Polo Grounds, and a team photo of the pennant-winning Giants side by side on their dugout steps. A couple edge tears and minor peripheral wear notwithstanding, one would be hard-pressed to deem the condition any less than Excellent. This rare and impressive survivor is 22"x16"!
