This vintage Negro League Broadside features Negro League stars Goose Tatum and Satchel Paige. Tatum would later become a star player playing for the Harlem Globetrotters and was elected into the Basketball Hall of Fame. He is credited for inventing the hook shot. Hall of Fame pitcher Satchel Paige, always a fan favorite, was the oldest rookie to play in Major League Baseball and the first player from inducted into Cooperstown based on his play in the Negro Leagues. This cardboard broadside measures 13-1/2 x 21-3/4” and advertises a “Negro American League Baseball” game to be played at Victory Field in Indianapolis. It pitted the Kansas City Monarchs vs. the Harlem Stars with both Tatum and Paige appearing proudly on the front of this broadside.
