Despite winning 96 games in the regular season, the 1949 Boston Red Sox failed to make the playoffs, dropping the final two games of the campaign to the pennant-winning New York Yankees. This Official American League (Harridge) ball features signatures from 23 members of that Sox team, with Ted Williams and Jack Kramer sharing space on the sweet spot. Other notables include KiKi Cuyler and Johnny Pesky, and a few of the autographs (including Birdie Tebbetts) are deemed to be clubhouse. The ball shows some fading with age as do the signatures, though most can still be clearly read. Comes with JSA LOA.
