Offered is a 1925-era OAL Reach baseball from Ban Johnson’s tenure as league president in its original rare box, which remains in excellent physical condition. The near-white baseball’s manufacturer’s markings appear strong and vivid, and are consistent with the 1925 design year, which is recognizable by the addition of “THE SIGN OF QUALITY” in the circular trademark logo on the north panel of the baseball. The word “WARRANTED” on the south panel does show some fading, marking the only blemish in the text on the item. The surface of the baseball, which features blue and red alternating stitching, shows very minor signs of scuffing and impressions of the yarn around the cork center are visible. The green and tan box is in outstanding condition given its age and features only minor repairs to small tears while experiencing some creasing. Among the text on the box is “THE OFFICIAL BALL OF THE WORLD’S SERIES.” A stamped No. “215” is also visible, as well as a handwritten “200” on one of the flaps on top of the box. This iconic baseball from America’s Pastime would make a great addition for any collector.
